Certificate distribution at Chitkohra

Distribution of certificates took place at Chitkohra skill training center on the 11th June. Two skills are being imparted to the young women. Sewing as well as beautician. The biggest challenge that we face at this place is the inconsistency of the young women to complete their course. The girl is always considered to be a burden and as soon as she reaches the age of puberty, the parents desire to get her settled and though often the young women desire that they complete their course the pressures from the parents and relatives is too much. However, every effort is made to try and persuade the parents to permit them to complete their course. Once they area skilled and we encourage the young women to demand for a sewing machine as part of their dowry. Then they will never be dependent on the husbands or inlaws
