No to CAA and NRC
In the midst of mounting violence across the country, a network in Patna organized a sit-in to record our protest against CAA and NRC. The gathering was remarkable as people of all faiths joined in. In particular we could identify Muslim women who broke the barriers and came and sat down in silence, some praying, others singing. About 10 people were fasting from morning till evening. Dorothy Fernandes - Directress of Aashray Abhiyan was invited to break the fast. She offered juice to the ones who were on fast. At 5.00 pm the fast was called off and it was heartening to see people served with hot tea, biscuits, dates, juice, and hot water. It seemed that it was a miniature India, celebration and solidarity were both demonstrated.
