Safeguarding our Right to Speech

As we grapple with the pandemic and the consequences of lockdown, it is disheartening to find that our government is behind doors hitting out at those who raise their voice in support of our Indian Constitution. We know of many citizens who are raising their voices against the decisions being taken unilaterally and curtailing the fundamental rights of citizens – Freedom of Speech. Advocate Prashant Bhushan is a symbol for all Indians who wish to adhere by the Constitution and who desire to protect the Freedom of Speech. To express our solidarity with Prashant Bhushan, civil society groups gathered together at Kargil Chowk, Gandhi Maidan. It is a sad day in the history of our country, when we have failed as a country to oppose the silent laws that are being initiated in very undemocratic manner. We hope and pray that we as Indians would be in a position to keep alive the spirit of Freedom
