Building the Nation – Training
Two of our team members Tanuja Kumari and Khush Kumar went to Indore, to “Universal Solidarity Movement”, to get tips on nation building. Having spent 10 days and being affected by the atmosphere the commitment of every person on the premises, it was indeed a very enriching experience.
As we grapple with issues in our present day times, we feel we are inadequate to respond to the complexity of issues. With this in mind we sent two young team members to learn and become transformed by their stay at USM. Truly the services rendered under the guidance of Fr. Varghese Alengaden and Fr. Jacob CMI with Ms. Neetu Joshi, Mr.Ashikho PJ has been very inspirational.
Both of them came back enthused by their stay and what they learned… they wished to share this experience so training was organized which was mainly given by Tanuja Kumari. The motto is – Light a candle instead of cursing the darkness; many life testimonies were encouraging and self transformation to the Transformation of the nation..Be the change you want to see”.
Tanuja used two documentary films Dharm which depicts that there is no religion greater than humanity; all the other division of caste, creed, gender become immaterial when we reach out to the human person, safeguarding her/his dignity and crossing all the other boundaries. The discussions that followed were very interactive and enlightening.
The other film – DO Kalakar was another story of two young girls and their vision for life and how they follow their dream come what may. However, in the end there is a sharp contrast of why we live and the meaning of life; why we live and what is it that gives us sheer happiness and satisfaction…Emphasis on values we need to imbibe.
In conclusion the team was very delighted to have one of their own train them. Thirty participants went back convinced that there are many areas in our lives where we need to change, by taking small steps we will one day surely achieve our goal..
Self Transformation to transformation of society…we each have to make a beginning…
