Celebrating the festival of Lights
In the dance of the festival of Lights…….
My heart will throb and my life will be one with your smile.
Deepawali, is the festival of Lights, inviting everyone to dispel the darkness that looms in our world and to be filled with the light that is deep within us. As we approach the festival, cleaning up and decorating is part of the custom. According to history Lord Ram was returning to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. To welcome him people cleaned up their place and lighted lamps. A very meaningful expression of what this festival signifies.
We also participated in this tradition by cleaning up our office, encouraging our children, communities to have a green Deepawali, being mindful of our commitment to save our environment. It’s a great temptation to children, youth to fall into the current trend. However, after much talk we are convinced that at least some of them would burnt oil laps, as one child said to me: what will we get by burning crackers, with that money we can eat something. This is the new change that is taking place, we believe in the power of the young who can set in a new value system.
In the office we gathered together as a family, all engage in the work of trying to bring relief to those on the periphery. As we prayed that the Light of Truth, Prosperity and Peace will reign in our hearts, homes and our locality. We also took an oath to ensure that we will work for the safety for our planet Earth. after greeting each other we participated in a meal and gifts were given to the entire team.
