Children…the joy of being alive..
The joy of keeping us alive is the smile and innocence of children. What more can give us happiness as we grow older, than having children around you. To mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, fondly known as ‘Chacha Nehru’, we took our children from the learning centers to the famous Kumhrar Garden.
The children began by giving a speech on “Chacha Nehru”, and who he was. At a time when history is being distorted and many of the To find the children free to dance, run around and play reminded me of our scot free days as little girls. So much has changed over the years. Children living in the settlements can never go to a park, as they have to pay an entrance ticket. All of this makes sense as we begin to appreciate the days of our youth.
We had races for them, running and each one trying to outdo the other. The open spaces gave these little children the feeling of being free enjoying the greenery and in a disciplined manner playing, dancing and enjoying a good meal. Before they left, we could see a sense of joy and fulfillment on their countenance. May these memories fill the minds and hearts of our children of who they are and what happens to them?
