Civil society engaging with Tushaar Gandhi
It was a golden opportunity to meet with Tushaar Gandhi, the great grandson of Bapuji. Civil society organized a one day discourse to create and generate awareness among the general public about the urgency to remove hatred and to spread the message of peace, justice and fraternity. There were great speakers one being Tushaar Gandhi, Professor Apoorvanad from Delhi University – politician – Shyam Rajak who threw light on the present political scenario. While we are focused on saving democracy and the constitution, we are missing the poison that is being fed into the hearts and minds of people; dividing people on the basis of religion. We need to be on the streets and talking to people said Tushaar Gandhi.
The next morning at 6.30 civil society marched with Tushaar for 5 kms to spread the message of love, peace and fraternity. There was a sizable of young people who have to take the torch forward and bring about a revolution. The march culminated at the famous Gandhi Maidan near the statue of Bapuji.
The need of the hour is to spread the message of love and brotherhood to combat the hatred that is being injected into the minds of our people. When this happens only then will the diversity, the very fabric of our country will be safe.
