The poor are always hounded as if they have no rights. From the earlier times living along the railway tracks they were forced to move out as the widening of the road threw them out to the open sky. Once again they were targeted when the Patna Municipal Corporation decided to destroy their huts on the basis of cleaning of the drains. In this sweltering heat, scorching sun, it is almost inhuman to find people living in the open sky, their grass made huts destroyed and forced to live in the open sky. Efforts were made to motivate the community to show their unity by coming together and opposing this demolition. Though this is something which the poor grapple with often, yet it was pathetic to see them try to pick up some of their belongings and find a place to rest. Attempts to meet the District Magistrate were made and a petition was placed before him yet we know that there is no one who will hear their cry. At times it is a very distressing situation.
