Examination at our sewing centers

The Covid – 19 has caused untold challenges, most people have been badly by this. We decided to take up this challenge and turn them into opportunities. Everyone was indoors for three long months and all were getting tired to be confined to their homes. We explored possibilities of getting the young women skilled. So, we began sewing centers. We decided to run two batches and to limit the girls to 10 for each batch and call them on alternative days. Se we targeted about 34 to 38 young women to be trained in nine months. It was a joy to conduct the exams and to find the confidence with which these young girls/women had learnt the art of sewing. This year we will be awarding certificates to some 170 of them and are trying to get them machines with some contribution from us. We hope and pray that these skilled women will make a livelihood out of this. School going girls also availed of this opportunity and they feel so proud that they are skilled. There are about 3 to 4 of them who are as young as 12 years. It’s a joy that knows no bounds. There have been about 6 young girls who studied in our learning centers as far as Class II and then pursued their studies and have know grown in confidence in sewing. This is truly transforming….truly empowering…….May these young minds be blessed abundantly and walk new paths…
