Historical Meeting with Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation
A very historical event took place yesterday 05, May 2019 evening. After many years of getting the administration and government to listen to the pleas of people on the periphery, the opportune time has arrived. Yesterday 40 representatives along with Aashray Abhiyan team had a meeting in the chamber of the commissioner of the Patna Municipal Corporation. The purpose is to empower the people to take care of their dwelling units. He suggested we do not use the word slum but dwellings - City Ambassadors will be appointed and they will take care of the basic amenities.
The Commissioner listened patiently to the community representatives and shared with them his plan. He also invited them to keep their dwellings clean. One important point that gave relief to the people was that no one will be evicted till alternative provisions have not been made. This was a great relief to our people.
It is a unique initiative and the rapport built with the commissioner and his team had been a positive sign for us with a ray of hope. May the God of our Journeys be with us.
