We as a country are going through very difficult, challenging times and also a time for opportunities to respond differently. There are very few voices that speak fearlessly in the face of the violation of rights embedded in our constitution. We have been guided within the framework of our Indian Constitution. All of us felt safe and have enjoyed freedom. Today we have come to the crossroads of our life. There was a person who went beyond, religion and stood and lived for justice. Swami Agnivesh was attacked in Jharkhand when he spoke out against the violation of the Tribals right to land. During that attack his liver was damaged. He left this world and a great void has been created. More so than ever we needed a man like him who was truly human and stood for Human values. Commemorating his loss, we stood in silence and spoke of this great personality praying that his life may continue to be an inspiration for us.
