Kazipur & Malaai Pakkdi
They say it is always the vulnerable who become a soft target to the anger of the rich. The floods that drowned Patna for a week and made life difficult for all the price was paid by the vulnerable sections of the society. The so called rich and the bureaucrats are in deep trouble and they have to respond as to how is it that Patna drowned? Most of them have been passing on the buck from one to the other. The irony of it all is that when the officials began to target the vulnerable sections who have been living for decades 4 to 5 on the same site.
They were enraged and at 9.30 pm began announcing that people should move out. The next morning early around 9.00am they came with police force bulldozers and none other than the District Magistrate and the commissioner of the Patna Municipal Corporation. They mercilessly lathi charged the people, did not spare young women and a patient who had been recently been operated. Their merciless beatings have filled us with rage. People were just beginning to put their lives together after the floods when this misfortune and dehumanizing situation came their way.
