Rajbansi Nagar community

The community at Rajbansi Nagar has been living along the roadside for decades in thatched roof huts. They had some dignity and security but unfortunately they were evicted from that little space. Development and widening of roads has taken top priority and therefore the consequences are falling on communities who came to the city some three decades ago. It is painful to know that the little space they had is now snatched and they are living in very inhuman conditions. It has been very difficult to get a hearing from any of the officials who are responsible for the development work that is taking place in the city. It has been a real struggle to get sensitive officials to stand by the cause of the people who are losing everything. It has been a long and tiring journey and at times we tend to become hopeless but when w think of the communities, we feel we need to speed up and make things happen.
