Refreshing….relaxing…..renewing
Two years of intense work responding to the covid situation and the tireless efforts to reach out to our people has been positive. Gradually, the team members expressed the need to go out for a day as team to refresh our tired minds….to relax without any responsibility and to be renewed in spirit amidst nature. We agreed to go on a Sunday and then take a break on Monday to take care of household chores which is normally done on a Sunday. Rajgir in Nalanda district some 120 kms from Patna was our picnic spot.
Everyone brought a little extra breakfast which we shared and enjoyed in the bus as we journeyed to our destiny. When we reached the spot we wished to visit the Wild Life Safari but the queue was too long and we heard tht people come as early as 4.00 am to get tickets. We had almost given up when Rajesh suggested that we call up the NULM department. In a short while we got an assurance that something would be done. In the meantime we took to the rope way to the high hills and enjoyed the cool and the scenic beauty of the place, though crowded yet we received the breath of pure air.
The safari ride to the nature walk and Glass Bridge was a real novel as we travelled through trees surrounded by hills and felt we were not in Bihar. The climb to the glass bridge was frightening and yet breath taking as we remained suspended on the glass bridge. The beauty around was awesome and as we moved out, hunger drew out attention as we found a nice green patch of grass and enjoyed our home cooked food. After a simple sumptuous meal, we set out for our journey back to Patna.
There was a great sing song dance and the competition between men and women was a sign of enjoyment; bonding was taking place. A short break for a cup of tea refreshed us on our onward journey and we thanked God for this beautiful day and for all the blessings we had received. Now we are all filled with new enthusiasm for the challenges of our work ahead.
