Caring for our common Home
On world Environment Day...we at Aashray Abhiyan gathered together to clean up our garden and tend to trees. We feel the need to plant trees which give us oxygen.... during this second pandemic, people have been struggling for oxygen......we grow in awareness of our interdependency...to take care of our common home and to live sustainably... while we planted trees, we also need to oppose the felling of trees and forests, the cutting of hills, the destruction of our water bodies.... let us stop and think what kind of world are we preserving for our children, for our coming generations.... let us take small steps ..we remembered with great respect late Sunderlal Bhaguna and the famous Chipko Movement....we need to revive this Chipko Movement, embrace thetrees as women did then,....stop the cutting down of trees in the name of development....We have only one planet...let us preserve it...
