Distribution of blankets and plastic sheets

As the winter sets in and we had been struggling to get some sort of shelter for those evicted due to development of Metro railway; the insensitivity of the officials hurt us. On our visits the elderly began to complain of aches and pains due to sleeping under the open sky. We heard their cry, explored possibilities of putting up big tents but it seemed impractical as the families had their belongings. Suddenly the dark sky broke into rain drops, first a few and then a heavy downpour; we had moved out to distribute plastic sheets and blankets. We tried to brave the rain and with umbrellas, did the distribution and moved on. Though it was pathetic, we tried to do what was best for us. On our way back we felt we could have a good sleep happy that we were able to give a little relief…..
