Distribution of certificates at TV Tower

The young women at TV Tower having successfully completed their course of 12 months, were all geared to receive their certificates. It’s always difficult to get the young women to complete their course. Many of them do not see the value of getting a certificate and completing their course. The biggest obstacle, is their marriages are arranged by their parents and they are forced to discontinue. Others have family problems and do not get the permission to come and complete their course. Family responsibilities are huge among the communities and families living on the periphery. Though when we begin the course in April/May we have 15 to 20 students but by the end of the year at least five drop out of which we have no control. The ones who complete their course successfully benefit from gaining the certificate. Our hope is that women will be empowered economically and will become independent.
