Malaai Pakkdi – Kankerbagh

The community living there has a history of residing when it was a jungle. People share their stories of how they had to encounter wild animals. After many years of labor of filling up the low lying area with mud and made it habitable there is threat of they being evicted. But with living there for so many years there is no provision for basic amenities like water, toilets etc. Their huts are in shambles for the simple reason they are afraid that at any time the bulldozer can come and raze their houses to the ground. It was a day of joy when they came to know that they will also be provided with toilets and water connections. Often they are sent away from places where they go to get drinking water. The Patna municipal Corporation through its commissioner has decided to install water connections and have toilets built in the dwelling units for the communities.
