Network Meeting of Representatives from ward No. 9
Encroachment….demolition…bulldozers… are the new words that enter our vocabulary. As ae begin to realize why this is happening the ‘Smart City’ concept is being realized and unfortunately, the administration and the government have targeted the most vulnerable sections of our society; the communities living on the periphery.
Historically their story dates to way back some five decades ago when most of the elderly today were young. The administration has decided to make ward No. 9 as VIP. This is something which is not agreeable. And even if it’s so, who decides who lives where. Somehow insensitive bureaucrats who look down upon the weak and vulnerable become the soft targets.
In every developing and development country both the rich and poor live side by side. Work or economic status does not change the human status. It was important to make this known to all the residents, or at least to their representatives. The fight and struggle will take a long journey and the people have to be prepared for this.
If alternative arrangements are made it will be left to be seen where and when? Till then he uncertainty continues. Somehow our people are gradually getting accustomed to this reality
