Net working among Religious women
Trafficking of women and children has become a real challenge throughout the Globe. It is the disrobing of the human person and robbing of their dignity. At times we hear of the painful stories how young people are being carried away and being lured into this trade. Trafficking for organ sale, begging, sexual abuse and other business is ruining the future of many human beings.
Since Religious are placed across the country, it is an opportunity to address this modern day slavery. The states from where people migrate the source makes them vulnerable due to many reasons of poverty, illiteracy and unskilled to find opportunities as a way forward. The destination places are in the more developed states of Southern India and the metropolitan cities of the country. This is a large network and it is not easy to enter in this world of theirs.
What is possible is to give an opportunity to prevent an increase of more people being trafficked. Creating awareness and raising the consciousness of the people to the plight of what they could fall into will be a way forward. We therefore, try to awaken the people to this reality and hope that things will change for them. Giving them skills which will empower them to dream of a better future
The gathering has brought forward an insightful reality and has filled the participants to continue this very difficult challenge of ending this modern day slavery. We hope that one day things will change for the best
