Reaching out to the community at Malaai Pakkdi

The community that is living at Malaai Pakkdi have been living on this site for more than 50 years. It is true that the number of huts have increased as the family grows. The older people share with us how they were living there when it was more like a jungle and wild animals would be seen. Today with the rapid growth of development people have bought land and often these poor communities are always living in threat. The community has got accustomed to living along the roadside. They are vulnerable and therefore there is no respite for them. Though they get some kind of food but there is always a need for food. Since distribution along the roadside is not possible, we were not able to do the distribution for the community on spot, we had to do the distribution in our office space, to observe social distancing and also ensuring there is no crowding .
