Reflecting…Reviewing…..Remembering
On the 31, May the entire team of Aashray Abhiyan met together after a span of five weeks. Maintaining social distance and obeying the SOP’s of the government and administration, we came together to reflect on our experiences during these 5 weeks. At the beginning all were invited to situate ourselves in the given context and then to ask for forgiveness for all those who due to their negligence and callousness have been responsible for the deaths of many innocent lives. As a consequence children are orphaned, women are widowed, and bread winners have been snatched. We stood for two minutes silence and paid our respects and homage to the departed souls.
Each of the team members shared their reflection on their experiences of the five weeks and how they had been affected and the lessons learnt. The mishandling and no planning for the pandemic was very evident…people struggling for oxygen, medicines, beds and ambulances painted a very pathetic picture for all. Fear, anger loomed around…
Later two issues for reporting were given. In groups the team members gave an update of the situation of availability of rations for the people. Emphasis was on who did not get rations and why? Secondly during these five weeks their links with the community….
