Remembering Bapuji

More so than ever we need to pay homage and pay respect to the Father of the Nation – Bapuji. At a time when there is so much distortion of history and values of secularism and nonviolence are being erased it becomes all the more important to revive the life of Bapuji. He embodied inclusiveness and has been a sign of diversity; all embracing going beyond religion and caste. His vision for a New India was the reason why he was martyred. He believed like all other statesman of his time that India belonged to all and to that end he worked with all people cutting across people of all walks of life. To this great human being who once walked our Earth, we gathered together vowed to be non violent in our words and actions. His life has made him an apostle of Peace, to hold this value, we set free two pigeon in the air as a mark of Freedom; not to be enslaved by any rules and chains. And we pray …..Into that Heaven of Freedom my Father, let my country awak….’
