Calling you viewers to contribute generously. May be to help support a young woman to either add to her savings for a machine. To support with rent for a center. To provide a day's midday meal for 60 children or even less. Or whatever you can every mite counts. The Almighty will bless you and your family abundantly.

Remembering with gratitude – Mohmmad Tahir. RIP

The journey with Tahirji began way back in 2006, when we used to be demonstrating under the tree at Gandhi Maidan. Our demand for housing was what attracted him towards us. He along with late Harinder, said, you are fighting for Justice for them, we want you to take up our issue. In 2008 a massive rally was organized for the vendors as the administration was not allowing them to do vending. We noticed that Tahirji was not only a vendor, but a great leader. Being on the road for years, he was very vigilant. There was not a single point where he was not known. With a cheerful heart and a smile on his face, he knew how to win over the people. He would never say NO, to anything that he was asked to do. Such willing, generous person. He was unlettered, but he had wisdom of how to handle a situation. No work was small for him.

He joined the team on all our journeys..he was with us at the WSF 2024 at Kathmandu. He had a desire to wear the cap which you see in the picture, he had asked many to buy a cap for him. So, his desire was fulfilled when we went to Kathmandu

For the past few months, he was complaining that he is not well. He had a burning sensation, unable to sleep at night. Rajeshji. Dilipji, Ranjeet, Sudarshan took him to many places and underwent number of tests, but nothing was diagnosed. On Thursday, 12, July, he returned to the office from the field and lay down on the ground…that was his last day with us..On Friday his wife admitted him in a private hospital. He was referred to the Patna medical college hospital, got admitted on Monday, 15, July at 9.50 am and breathed his last at 8.30 pm the same day.

His passing away has shocked all the vendors, his wife and children. His two daughters marriage were arranged. He leaves behind two sons and three daughters to be settled…

We have lost a faithful, loyal pillar of our organization. His void cannot be filled…Thank you Tahirji…Rest in Peace. Floral tribute was organized in his memory on 17, July at Kargil chowk, where he used to stand for years selling his goods.
