Searching for alternative
The community living at Adalatghat have been hounding from one place to another with no respite from the weather conditions that keep them in a very difficult situation. Meeting them at different times and witnessing their plight has always been challenging. We tried to offer them different sites which we thought would take them out of this hell. They went and saw the place that was offered to them, they thought that it would not be possible for all to be accommodated. In a way we were touched by their sense of community.
But what surprised us more than anything when they said, we have a plan , we will save some money, try to purchase a piece of land so that no one will chase us away. Even if it’s a small piece of land it will be ours. Such beautiful thoughts can only come out from the heart of these simple people who do not possess riches of the world.
This will be a new mission given to us by our people, which we will have to work towards to translate it into reality.
