Spreading Aashray Abhiyan
Our experience for working with the urban poor of Patna district has given us a reason to reach out to more people in different districts. At our annual evaluation meeting the core team members were of the opinion that we need to spread out to more districts in Bihar. As we wish to work with and for the urban poor who are always a neglected lot, we decided that a weekly visit the neighboring districts on a regular basis.
Our first intervention should be with the construction workers and explore possibilities of how to link them with schemes of the government. By so doing they will be in a better situation to trust us and so the work will spread out.
Gradually we will enter into the lives of the children, hoping that they go to school and get the basic of learning. This plan of action was accepted by all; the members will also have to explore the possibilities of identifying people who would later be inducted into the organization.
