Toilets under construction

The process of constructing toilets for the community is both an opportunity and a challenge. Though the communities live on government land they are so diffident to give a bit of land to construct toilets. There is no willingness to join hands together and live as dignified life. We had to work hard to get the community convinced about this need and scheme. There is a sense of toleration and putting up with difficulties that the poor have got accustomed to. Once the toilets were being constructed, there was a sense yes, things are happening. The process was quite a difficult one and they found that it was worth encouraging people to let go of their land. The “City Ambassadors” have played a positive role in this process. When we are out to do something there are thousands of people to throw stones at us. We as an organization also had our share, but we decided that we will turn a deaf ear to these accusation. Work has to go on and we must not be affected by those who try to become obstacles to our work
