Vendors at Kadam Kuan

The weakest point of working with vendors is their inability to give time to gather together and to think about their lives. They easily accept all sorts of atrocities that come their way without questioning. They are very vulnerable and become easy prey to the injustices meted out to them. It is because of this, the need to educate them and make them aware of their rights and the plans of the government to evict them in the name of encroachment. Suddenly as we were addressing the vendors there was a disturbance by one who belonged to another group. Fortunately, there were some of the vendors who were able to speak up and speak out. We only tried to create awareness, its left up to the vendors to decide whom they wish to follow. It is in such conflicutal situations that we wish to free our people and enable them to make decisions for their well being. Yet it was a good meeting as there was a choice placed before the vendors.
