Visit and survey at Chena Kothi
The follow up of the historical meeting on 05, May was yet another moment of being engaged with the officials of the PMC. As Tanuja, Khush and Dorothy met at Cheena Kothi, we tried to collect he people and have a meeting with them. There’s always initial reluctance, whether the officials will arrive? Whether they will come on time or not..a little after 7.30 the team arrived and listened to the problems the people were facing. It was basically no water supply, blocked manholes, toilets not sufficient and street lights that also need to be rectified.
After listening to the pleas of the people, the team surveyed the place and we were in a position to access the needs of the people. More toilets were to be built, and existing ones to be demolished. Two submersible water connections to be installed and street lights to be taken care of. The most disturbing fact was that the children moved aimlessly and were not going to school. Strict instructions were given that no one would occupy the space on the streets. Water connections along the road would be disconnected.
